(Washington, DC – March 31, 2010) National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has further extended its current output deal with Parthenon Entertainment Limited for two more years. Already one of the longest-running output deals in the industry, last year the company celebrated 10 years of delivering original programming for the broadcaster.
Throughout its partnership with NGCI, Parthenon has delivered over 140 hours of programming and has been commissioned to provide a minimum of 20 hours over the next two years. Recent standout series from the NGCI/Parthenon output deal include Wild Russia and Mystery Files. Wild Russia is a breathtaking, six-part series that shows off the splendours of the nation’s diverse landscape while Mystery Files examines some of the world’s most famous and iconic mysteries that have inspired, intrigued and confounded experts for years.
Commenting on the deal, Janet Han Vissering, Senior Vice President of Development and Co-Production at NGCI, said: “NGCI has forged a strong and successful partnership with Parthenon, resulting in insightful, high-quality programming that resonates with our viewers worldwide and drives ratings.”
Carl Hall, CEO of Parthenon Entertainment Group, adds: “This is a testament to our ongoing commitment to National Geographic Channels International and their recognition of our ability to deliver entertaining programming to a global audience.”
