President
National Geographic Channel - Asia Pacific and Middle East
Ward Platt is responsible for FOX International Channels' and National Geographic Channel’s regional and local business operations in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, heading up a dynamic team working in 13 countries. As President of FOX International Channels Asia, he directs the strategic development of the region's largest international network, overseeing the operations of 37 channels under the FOX, STAR and National Geographic brands, and the network's non-linear TV channel, online and mobile platforms.
Ward's vision is to aggressively expand into new markets and reach beyond the network's current base of households in the region, while also consolidating its position as a preferred media partners for local and pan-regional advertisers.
Ward joined FOX International Channels in 1999 to spearhead the development of National Geographic Channel in Asia Pacific and the Middle East as Group Managing Director. Under his stewardship, the channel brand achieved tremendous growth in terms of reach, revenue and popularity.
Before joining National Geographic Channel, Ward was the Senior Vice President of Distribution and Business Development for the STAR Group, where he pursued opportunities for the company throughout Asia. Earlier in his career, he worked for five years with Continental Cablevision and its affiliates in both Singapore and Boston.
