Hernan Lopez
President & Managing Director
National Geographic Channel-CanalFox Latin America

As President of Fox Latin American Channels and Managing Director of Fox Channels UK, Hernán López is responsible for the operations of Canal FOX, FX Channel, Fox Life, SPEED Channel and National Geographic Channel in Latin America; of FX Channel in the UK; and of Fox One Stop Media in Latin America, Miami, and New York.

López has been acknowledged for improving Canal FOX’s already high levels of audience and market perception, significantly increasing the final balance sheet figure of the company. At the beginning of 2002, Fox Latin America Channels reorganized its operations and appointed Managing Directors for the Southern Cone, the Northern Cone and Brazil, who report to López at the company’s headquarters. López’s current goals include strengthening FX and Fox Life in Latin America, reinforcing National Geographic Channel to make it the region’s leading channel; keeping Canal FOX in the first place as the most important general entertainment channel; and increasing the number of business based in the US.

Previously, López was Advertising Sales Manager at pan regional level and in Argentina for Canal FOX, Fox Kids, and Fox Sports. In this position, López established and run the company’s sales office in Miami.

Before joining Fox in 1997, López held positions in different companies including Advertising Sales Vice-President, at Adlink; Advertising Sales Manager, at Gems International Television; Managing Director, at Profeco, the sports unit of Telearte S.A. (Canal 9); and Business Development Manager, at Radio Libertad.

López has conducted several seminars and taken part in conferences, such as IAA and Promax, both in the United States and Argentina, as regards The Effectiveness of Advertising. Commerce magazines, such as Electronic Media, Prensario, Dossier, Reporte, Carta de Publicidad and the newspaper of the Universidad de Palermo, have published his work. López was awarded the 2004 Inte Award for best President/GM of a paid TV channel in Latin America.

A native of Argentina, López has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Miami University, and a Postgraduate Degree in Advertising from the Escuela Superior de Publicidad de Buenos Aires. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles.
