Mark Green
Senior Vice President, Operations
National Geographic Channels International

As Senior Vice President, Operations, Mark Green oversees Operations, Production Services, and Syndication. Green also manages the global programming budget for NGCI.

As the former Senior Vice President, Programming and Vice President, Co-Finance and Sales, Green was responsible for managing the team of buyers who source, select and negotiate programming agreements on behalf of NGCI, including acquisitions and co-productions and commissions for all National Geographic Channel outlets. Green began at NGCI as Director of International Acquisitions in August 1998.

Prior to joining NGCI, Green was Manager, Program Acquisitions & Development at Discovery Networks International. He was responsible for identifying and negotiating rights for over 800 hours of acquired and commissioned programming on an annual basis. Green was also involved in Discovery’s joint ventures with the BBC, with specific responsibility for establishing and maintaining producer/distributor relationships and acquiring programming for the launch of these ventures.

Green joined Discovery Communications, Inc. in September 1995. Prior to that, he was an Acquisitions/Production Coordinator, Video Division at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, Green attended graduate studies in International Affairs at the American University. In May 1993, he joined the Delegation of the Commission of the European Union, monitoring and reporting on congressional activities relevant to the E.U.
