Chief Financial Officer
National Geographic Channels Worldwide
James Bond is the Chief Financial Officer for National Geographic Channels Worldwide, which operates and distributes the National Geographic branded documentary channel in the U.S. and international markets throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America. NGC and NGCI are joint ventures between Fox Cable Networks and National Geographic Ventures, a wholly owned taxable subsidiary of the not-for profit National Geographic Society. In this role, Bond is responsible for the company's overall financial operations, administration and business development activity. He joined NGCI in March 2000 and is based at the headquarters of the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC. In January 2007, he took on the additional responsibility of Chief Financial Officer for NGC.
Before he joined NGCI, Bond was the Director of Program Finance, Sales & Operations for Discovery Networks International (DNI). He was responsible for managing the global programming budgets for DNI's stable of international networks, managing DNI's joint venture investments in Canada and Germany and overseeing DNI's program syndication sales business.
Before joining Discovery, Bond held a number of positions at Home Box Office (HBO) in New York and was most recently the Manager of Strategic Planning and Analysis. Bond holds an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business, a Masters degree in Statistics from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelors degree from James Madison University.
